【台商研習團】108年《馬來西亞檳城台商企業研習團》成果&心得分享 Sharing of Achievements and Experiences of the 108 "Study Group of Taiwanese Businesses in Penang, Malaysia"
《馬來西亞檳城台商企業研習團成果影片》
In terms of personality and work attitude, the Chinese are more motivated. Malays have a more optimistic and relaxed frame of mind. Almost every Taiwanese businessperson says that most of the hard works are done by the Chinese (including Taiwanese). Then I heard them describing an example of how the Malaysian government protects Malays (regarding job opportunity), which made me feel unfair.
Local Chinese can hardly be promoted even if they perform well in government agencies; in contrast, they are often promoted better in private companies. Therefore, many Chinese choose to work overseas. For Malay students with better grades, the government will send them to study abroad for free and go directly to work in government agencies after they return to China. Hearing this unequal treatment, I understand why Malays are more relaxed and Chinese are more ambitious.

The general manager mentioned that Taiwanese businessmen are good at designing and manufacturing loudspeakers and can produce high-quality products. Most of the products on the market are made in Taiwan. However, it is a pity that they are not good at branding. For all young people, this is a good opportunity, which means that the market is in demand. Since I am still young, I have a lot of time to turn my ideas into reality, research and implement them, and even launch toward the road of entrepreneurship, start branding, earn honor for Taiwan, and let more people know about this place.
From the experience sharing with the chairman of MEI, I realized the necessity of networking and the importance of finding and using resources. When encountering a problem, you can first humbly seek help from someone who is familiar with and has relevant experience. This also echoes with another chairman's words, "Make friends first, then do business, thus things will become smooth."
In addition, the general manager mentioned "learning begins when a question is asked" completely resonated with what Professor Ku said earlier which surprised me. It also made me think that the current learning is not only about inputting knowledge into my head, but also digesting and outputting. Plus, thinking and asking questions constantly with a doubtful mentality, and finally internalizing to become a part of me. Reading books is not merely looking with your eyes, but also thinking with your mind, and even speaking with your mouth!
